PAUL CRESTON 26 February 66 Monsieur Jean-Marie Londeix. Dear Master: Many thanks for your very charming letter. It is always a great inspiration for me to know the feelings of great musicians concerning my music. I have asked my publisher to send a copy of my Concerto for Saxophone sand Orchestra to you. This Concerto is also arranged for saxophone and band, and the piano reduction will be printed in about a month. Is it possible to obtain in America the recording of my Sonata that you made? The recording made by your great master Marcel Mule is no longer available. But there are two other recordings in America - one by the American saxophonist Vincent Abato with myself at the piano, and the other by Sigurd Rascher. Accept my best wishes and gratitude, (Signed) PAUL CRESTON Translation by Jennie Wood and William Street, University of Alberta |
